Diane Cohn
Realtor, Chase International
Diane Cohn is a top producing Realtor in Reno/Sparks. Founder of the area's number one real estate blog, Reno Realty Blog, Diane was named as one of the Top 12 Women Real Estate Bloggers for 2007. Her blog is well-known as one of the best sources online for local real estate market information and features a regular cast of enthusiastic contributors who have turned it into a real community.
Before real estate Diane found her niche in marketing at one of the world's most innovative companies, Apple Computer, where she managed their worldwide user group program. "At Apple," she says, "I learned to execute complex projects on accelerated schedules, create motivated, results-orient teams and implemented creative marketing plans. There I also learned about managing online communities."
Attracted by Chase International's meticulous branding and marketing strategy, she quickly became a top producer in the Reno/Sparks area, utilizing her blog as her primary source business. Her specialty is executive relocation, and her average transaction is more than double the local median. Sixty-five percent of her clients are internet-savvy professionals moving into the area from somewhere else.
As part of the Chase collection of Inman junkies, Shari Chase asked Diane to look at creating a companywide blog. After looking at the various options, Diane brought the idea of a branded social network to Chase. With the expert advice of her husband, Ted Cohn, who was able to modify the source code in Ning, a popular white label social networking solution, they created a customized, more sophisticated blogging platform with additional features including categories, indexing and search. Thus, Chase Nation was born.
Diane holds a BA degree from the University of California, Santa Cruz. A Realtor since 2004, she is an Accredited Buyer Representative and a Senior Real Estate Specialist. In 2006 and 2007, she was the Top Sales Agent for units sold at Chase International and would have been Rookie of the Year at her prior brokerage had she not left for Chase. In addition to blogging, selling real estate, and managing Chase Nation, she writes a monthly real estate column for the Reno Gazette Journal.
